TREES

Blanco Crabapple

Rosaceae Malus ioensis var. texana

A rare Hill County tree blooming in April. It rarely reaches over 12 feet in height.   In the fall, mature trees have small bitter tasting fruit, but it makes a great jelly.  In the winter, the stiff limbs give it a statuesque appearance.  Plant in full sun for maximum blooms and fruit.
