TREES

Lacey Oak
Fagaceae Quercus glaucoides

The lacey oak is a medium size oak under 50 feet tall.  From a distance it looks somewhat like the escarpment live oak. Upon closer inspection, the deciduous leaves are blue green.  The acorns appear annually.   This oak is a native of the Hill Country, usually appearing at higher elevations.   It is drought tolerant once established and one of my favorite oaks.
