TREES This is the large tree (upwards of 150 feet) seen in the Hill Country rivers and permanent streams. It is deciduous and has delicate, ferny green foliage which turns reddish brown after the first cold snap. It has small cones which contain the seed. Plant in low wet areas or where it can be given supplementary water. Give it plenty of room, this is a BIG TREE, a giant of the Texas family of trees. |
